L-Methylfolate is the bioavailable form of folate and is the only form able to cross the blood-brain barrier. L-Methylfolate is important for normal production of serotonin, norepinephrine and dopamine, and is essential for converting homocysteine to methionine. Almost half of all people have genetic variations that reduce their ability to convert folate to its usable form. For this population, L-methylfolate supplementation is far more effective in providing this form of folate. Use it to help support healthy mood, cardio, and nerve function.

  • Supports the production of mood balancing neurotransmitters.
  • Provides most effective form of folate for those with genetic MTHFR variations.
  • Offered in several strengths.

Over the years, my short term memory had progressively diminished and caused significant stress, especially at work as a teacher. I’ve been taking medications for Bipolar II, MDD, and ADD (I know, I’m a mess) for over a decade and last year when I brought it up with my psychiatrist, he said that one of my medications actually blocks the ability of the brain to absorb folate, and gave me a week sample of 15mg Deplin . It was absolute night and day difference, but my insurance wouldn’t cover it because they consider a “medical food” to be a non-medically necessary nutritional supplement (because of course they’re the experts). So after months of trying to get by with the maximum strength you can buy at stores like GNC (1,000 mcg = 1 mg), I finally found this site, and it’s been life-changing. I’m not a fan of statements like that, but for something that keeps me from getting resented by my team for what they think is forgetfulness or even apathy, and helps me to stay on point while teaching by maintaining my sequential working memory, I can’t really describe it any other way. I’m so thankful I was able to find this.

A few years back I was able to sample the Rx version of this under the name Deplin. It is very expensive and not covered by most insurance. I was happy to find and try the products from Methylpro. Having been on the 15mg for 90 days, and running out before I placed a new order, I can definitely tell a difference in my mood in the past few days without it. I have struggled with anxiety and depression for years and this product is a great addition to my other Dr. prescribed medications to combat those conditions. I will not run out again.

I've been taking this for over a year. Can't say it helps with my mood, but has significantly helped with sleep. My Dr. recommended it and said it would take a month or so and I would probably have mood changes till then. I did not feel any mood changes. But sleep improved immediately which helps with the mood. I also had genetic testing done that showed low Methyl Folate.

It’s life changing. Not only does it significantly help my mood, it helps my skin. It’s the only thing that keeps my Keratosis pilaris (chicken skin) at bay. Also helps keep my skin clear from breakouts. I’ve tried a couple of the cheap brands on Amazon - big mistake. Don’t waste your money. They don’t work. My skin went to hell and so did my mood. Do yourself a solid and invest in the real stuff, MethylPro. You are worth it.

My son also uses this and swears by it. When we had the cheap stuff he didn’t know the difference but complained to me that all his chicken skin came back on his arms and face too. On this he cleared back up. We both have it a little bit on the upper arms still, but it’s very little and no bother.

I had gene testing and it said I had significantly low Methyl folate. I've been taking 15 mg of methyl folate since 2015. I also take a anti-depressant. I ran out about 6 weeks ago and had trouble getting into the site. Finally I signed up again because my depression was coming back. Now I really realize that this does work and I'm reordering today.
